Good Morning Danielle and everyone.
Sleeping in on a Saturday morning-priceless. But, time to get going.
Weekend? Dog walk this morning, Bariatric support group later, then an afternoon bike ride.
I want Randy to know that I got 8 more morel mushrooms from my front yard yesterday. What a treat.
QOTD-I follow my nutritionist recommendations as far as protein grams and fluids. I try to follow eating wisely. Sometime I don't do as well as I should, but I get right back on track...
Have a good one!

Good Morning everyone!  Today is not my day to sleep in....I'm gong to Jackson to hang out with the girls for a bit.  Maybe tomorrow my DH will let me sleep...keeping my fingers crossed.

I use all the info. I got from the NUT to plan how and what I'm going to eat.  I remember when I was newly post op I thought that I was going to have to carry my own food around in my purse for the rest of my life!  Now I just know how to pick stuff and how to compensate if I am somewhere and good choices aren't available.  Like today, for instance.  I know I'm going out and there is a chance I won't eat the perfect "diet" stuff.  So I make sure to get a little extra gym time in and then tomorrow it's right back to normal.

I hope you all have a great day!

You got up at 4.  I went to bed at 3. LOL!  But I fell asleep on the couch around 11PM.  LOL!  I didn't get up, tho, til about 7:30.  I've been doing laundry and watching the news.  Drank some coffee earlier and am now eating a bowl of Special K protein cereal with raisins.

Today, I'm hanging with my girls.  Should be a great time!!

For the first year, yes, I did stick to my nutritionists diet, pretty faithfully.  But as time has passed, I've adjusted to eating "normal" and don't focus on calories, fat, etc.  I do pay attention to protein and make sure I get that in first, as much as possible.  Since I got pregnant, though, I pretty much eat whatever I want.  I'm starving all the time!!!  But I'm in the last month, now and have only gained 10-12 pounds, this whole time.  Hoping he's a BIG healthy baby!!

OK...had to edit this...when I say BIG, I mean of average weight...7 or 8 pounds!! That's plenty big enough!!  LOL!!

Enjoy the day!! Tina

My stupid cat woke me up at 7am.  I plan to take a nap later to make up for it.

So I got up early, had some fruit (strawberries and blackberries) and finished reading the JD Robb book I've been working on forever.  Now that its 10am I'm thinking about a read breakfast....

QOTD -- Unfortunately I didn't receive consistently good advice from my nutritionists.  There are two at my surgeon's office, one is good, one isn't.  So some advice I got was right on target.  But overall I didn't get enough information and had to fill in with my own research and guidelines.  I believe I have developed my own good core program while still staying within the general guidelines I got from the Nuts.

My Recipe Index is packed full of yumminess!

hi everyone!! QOTD: like Pam, I had 1 good nutritionist & 1 not so good, however, they only teach the rny "diet" & have little or no experience in the DS "diet". They don't even acknowledge a difference in how our surgeries/bodies absorb food. I had to research a lot &, thankfully, the ds board here has been right on! So, for the most part, I followed their(surgeons office) plan until about 2 months out & then I switched to a ds'ers way of eating-super high protein, low carb-don't count calories or fat at all.
